For over a decade Sofia Klass has taught Pilates, Dance and Yoga classes in Los Angeles. Her teaching style is very versatile ranging from a focus on movement therapy to fitness. She is known for skillfully tailoring her classes to the individual needs of students in both group and private settings. Over the years she has immersed herself in studying the human body with continuing education in anatomy and physiology. She brings her love for learning about the human form to her classes through guided imagery and somatic approaches.
As a dance teacher she has experience teaching to all ages and since 2011 has been a lead teacher for the amazing outreach program Dancing Through Parkinson's, created by Invertigo Dance Theatre. Alongside her teaching practice Sofia is an experienced dance artist and choreographer. She is a founding member of two Los Angeles based companies: Invertigo Dance Theatre (since 2008) and Efflorescence (since 2010). Her dance artistry is focused in contemporary dance forms and on the merging of dance, theatre and music.
Dedicated to the personal growth of each person Sofia guides her students into being explores of their own bodies and strives to teach each person to get to know themselves both inside and out. Sofia believes in a daily movement practice that is balanced and supports the whole person in body, mind, breath and spirit. Depending on your needs a one-on-one session with Sofia will be tailored to your fitness and/or therapy needs and will be both on the Pilates equipment and on the mat as it is important to bring the work into our daily lives.
