Classes for Parkinson's
Since 2011 Sofia has taught one-on-one movement classes for people living with Parkinson's disease (PD) and currently has a robust number of clients with PD who see her on a weekly basis. Through research and experience Sofia has created a movement approach to PD that covers an array of therapeutic principles such as balance challenges, gait principles, complex movement sequencing, cognitive brain teasers, proprioceptive awareness skills, and strength building. All these movement foundations are taught to foster more joy for movement. Movement classes for PD encompass Dance, Yoga, and Pilates therapy principles. Sofia teaches these movement classes for PD at The Moving Joint and also does home visits.
